The newspaper is available at single-copy locations throughout Maui. Current subscribers to the newspaper can enjoy full access to both the digital version and the website.
You can access the digital version of the newspaper by either using a web browser or by downloading The Maui News On the Go app from your app store. The app will display the newspaper optimized for your device. A tablet, such as iPad works best, but you can also access it on an iPhone and other smaller devices.
Access is easy. The first step is to verify that you are a subscriber.
Simply follow the instructions at the bottom of any story on our website, or follow the prompts from a mobile device. As part of the verification process you will enter your email address and pick a password. You use the address the password to log in and gain access to thousands of stories on the web and on your mobile devices.
If you are not a subscriber you can quickly sign up for a digital subscription for as little as 40 cents per day. Digital subscribers enjoy full access to more than 100,000 stories that are on the website as well as the current edition of the newspaper that is available on the On the Go app. Simply follow the directions to sign up online and starting enjoying The Maui News.

I've read the website for years, why are you charging for it now?
Portions of The Maui News have been available on the web without cost; however, readers have never gotten the entire paper. The new app offers you the entire newspaper, every word, delivered to you regardless of where you are. Charging a small amount for the digital version will allow us to continue to provide you with the most comprehensive report on Maui available anywhere. News gathering throughout Maui County comes with a cost. Since 1900 readers have shared that cost by subscribing to the newspaper. By having online and app readers sharing that cost it will assure that we will be able to continue the award-winning coverage readers have expected.
When will each day's newspaper be available?
The digital version of the newspaper becomes available around the same time the newspaper does, which means you can enjoy it with your morning coffee regardless of where you are. After you have registered online, you can sign up to receive an email alert when the newspaper is posted to the web.
How long will it take to download the newspaper to my tablet?
The tablet edition is optimized to download very quickly. Depending on the speed of your WiFi connection, you should be able to be relaxing with your newspaper in around a minute.
I don't have a tablet, why do I have to pay for the digital version?
You don't, print and digital have different rates. Our bundle price offers you a significant discount when you take both, but we offer non-bundled prices as well. A digital-only edition gives you access to both the tablet app and our website, www.mauinews.com.

What is MediaPass?
MediaPass is the subscription technology company that is used by The Maui News for digital subscriptions
Are the subscriptions recurring?
Yes. All of MediaPass’s subscriptions auto-renew to the term that you selected. If you wish to cancel the auto-renewal, contact MediaPass support at email@example.com and please indicate the email address you used to sign up. You can also contact them by phone at (866) 787-7665. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 5: p.m. PST.
Will I receive an email confirming my subscription?
Yes. All subscribers are sent an email from our notification email address thanking you for and confirming your subscription. Please make sure to check your inbox for the confirmation. If you do not see it, please check your spam folder.
How do I pay for my subscription?
Subscribers are given the option to subscribe via Credit Card or PayPal. If you pay by PayPal, you may still be asked to give credit card information. This is just in case you do not have the funds available in your account. Currently, subscriptions are in USD (more currencies coming soon) and all countries have the ability to subscribe.
How will my subscription show up on my billing statement?
Your billing statement will show a charge from MediaPass and often times not the website you registered to. There are some exceptions where individual sites do show up on your credit card bill however. Should you have any questions about the charge, MediaPass’s contact information is given on the statement.
How do I add the digital access account to an existing newspaper home delivery subscription?
If you are a current newspaper home delivery subscriber, you can add a digital access account subscription for free! On the first page of the pop up digital access account screen, underneath “Sign up to continue” it says, “Are you a print subscriber?” Click on “Print Subscriber?” and fill out the form that follows.
Do I need to log in every time I visit MauiNews.com?
MauiNews.com has been built with a smart feature that remembers your assigned IP address for each of your devices on the web server. Once you have logged in, you will stay online as long as your device is connected to the same Internet connection.
For example, if you log in on your laptop at home and then wish to access your account on your laptop at work, you will be prompted to sign in again. If you have multiple devices you would like to use to access your account, simply log in on each device when prompted.
What if I forget my username?
Your username is the email address with which you created the account. You shouldn’t be asked to re-sign in to your account every time unless you often use different browsers or devices. If you’re prompted to re-sign in to your account, go to where it asks, “Already a Member? Sign in below,” and use the same email and password combination you used to register.
What if I forget my password?
We do not keep passwords on file to ensure your privacy. If you’ve forgotten your password, there’s an option below the sign in area to request a new one. Please make sure to check both your inbox AND spam folder for the new password. If you’re still having trouble signing into your account, please contact MediaPass customer support at 866-787-7665 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I renew/cancel my subscription?
Your digital access subscription will automatically renew until you choose to cancel it. You will receive an email from MediaPass several days before your renewal date. If you no longer wish to have a digital access account, contact MediaPass customer support at 866-787-7665 or email@example.com to cancel. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 5: p.m. PST.
Can MediaPass issue refunds?
All of MediaPass’s sales are final and they do not issue refunds due to the nature of our websites’ content. If they do issue a refund, it’s usually a partial refund as they have to at least charge for a one month’s subscription. If there is evidence of a fraudulent charge, a full refund will be issued immediately.
I have a new credit card number. How can I update my account information?
If you have a digital only subscription by contacting the MediaPass Subscriber Support at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide your telephone number so that a MediaPass representative can call you back. There is an online account page coming soon where you will be able to update credit card information.
